Our Crazy Gun Policy Keeps Killing, Killing and Killing People!
By John M. Williams
I am not a lawyer. However, I can read and understand plain English. The Second Amendment to the US Constitution is written in easily understood English. The Amendment reads: A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. Nowhere. Nowhere. Nowhere in the amendment as written does it say Congress shall make no law prohibiting the selling of assault weapons and accompanying ammunition whose sole purpose is killing people.
In the western world we must be the laughing stock of other countries regarding our gun policy. We are the number one homicidal country in the western world. Gun manufacturers, the National Rifle Association, Gun Owners of America, crazy paramilitary groups and other right wing crazies are fanatical about being able to manufacture, sell and buy weapons of war. Gun manufacturers and its leading defender the National Rifle Association must love these mass murders. Why? Because every time a mass murder occurs and the federal government speaks of regulating guns and ammunition, the crazies make a run on stores selling assault weapons and accompanying ammunition and empty the shelves.
The gun manufacturers are elated because they are making money, more money and lots more money. They would love to see a massacre a day because they found a successful way to prey on fear and ignorance while making fortunes from communities’ calamities.
I wanted to shout, “You are crazy” when I heard Wayne La Pierre say, “The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun.” The Gunfight at O K Corral happened only once. Three people were killed and five were wounded. How many O K Corral situations do we want?
Guns are killing weapons, just like bombs are killing weapons. Timothy McVeigh would not have killed the number of people he did without using a bomb. The mass murders in Newtown, Aurora, Phoenix, Virginia Tech and other places happened because the weapons used held scores of bullets in one clip. This allows killers continuing fire power resulting in more people being killed and wounded. The more people who own guns the more people will be killed and maimed. This is a fact. The inability and cowardice of Congress to stand up to gun manufacturers and the NRA and pass legislation banning the selling of certain gun types and accompanying ammunition does not bode well for America. It speaks volumes about the harmful and corrupt political system we live in. Failure to pass legislation restricting or banning the selling of military assault weapons and accompanying tells citizens that the government has no interest in protecting them. It also states that the government is willing to allow the carnage to continue. The prime responsibility of a government is to protect its citizens.
To stop any sensible legislation restricting the selling of certain types of guns and ammunition, doing background checks on gun purchasers and limiting the number of guns individuals can buy at one time, gun manufacturers, NRA and allies will lie, brainwash, threaten and use other nefarious means. They will do this not to protect Second Amendment right to bear arms. No. They will do these illicit acts to sell more guns. What does it say about us as a country if we allow lies and deceits to restrict public access to killing machines?
I do not oppose an individual’s desire and right to own a gun. If I was a hunter, I would own the appropriate rifles. My father, two grandfathers and two uncles were avid hunters. They owned rifles not handguns. They shot bears, deer, rabbits, ducks, pheasants and other game. To my knowledge they never feared the government taking away their guns. I have no doubt that if the situation demanded that they use their guns to protect their families from robbers or other dangers they would. I support such actions. I also believe they would not own military style guns for hunting. Such weapons have no use in hunting. Nor is there any evidence that the federal government now, tomorrow, next month or in the future is preparing to set up a dictatorship and take away people’s guns.
The debate over gun control or gun restrictions will get ugly, nasty and dirty. Supporters of gun regulation must be disciplined, tougher and smarter. They must match or outspend the gun lobby, and they must organize communities to vote in favor of gun restriction.
Newtown, CT --The brutal, senseless massacre of 20 children and 7 adults, plus three wounded adults, by Adam Lanza, shows the need for the US Congress to enact immediate legislation banning the sale of automatic handguns and rifles. President Obama’s administration should take the lead and push as hard to get the legislation passed as his administration did to get the Affordable Health Care law passed?
How many more innocent people (men, women and especially children) must and will die because of the paranoia fear the National Rifle Association and gun manufacturers have over Congress. The NRA’s paralyzing muscle over Congress in preventing it from passing sensible gun control legislation is an international disgrace. An individual’s right to bear arms does not mean that person has the right to own guns that can kill scores of people by pulling a trigger and keeping a finger on it until the clip is empty.
The children and adults mowed down in Newtown, and other places, had rights that they will never exercise. They had the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They had the right to live without fear of being slaughtered by a deranged individual who had access to weapons of mass destruction designed for no other purpose but war. The too often repeated massacres of individuals by automatic weapons of war pits the majority of the American public in a deadly war against manufacturers whose sole goal is profit.
Times have changed since the gunslinging days of Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson and Billy the Kid. Most people don’t settle their disagreements with guns. The gun lobby in this country wants everyone armed with guns. Why/? So they can sell more guns. They know that after each massacre, people buy more guns. Massacres increase their business.
How many more Newtown, University of Virginia, Aurora, Phoenix, Columbine and other massacres must we experience before we say, “Enough! Enough! Enough!”
How much more pain must we inflict on society because the gun lobby controls Congress and will not let a spineless Congress pass legislation restricting access to automatic weapons? It’s time for Congress to discover the courage to pass laws restricting the purchasing of all automatic handguns and rifles. It’s time for the American people to rise up and tell the gun manufacturers and the NRA that their days of Congress knuckling under to them are over.
The year 2013 should be the year to pass gun legislation to save lives and to restore sanity to public policy regarding gun access.
Governed by Fear
By John M. Williams
The failure of the U.S. Senate to ratify the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities tells the world that the U.S. Senate does not care about how people with disabilities are treated worldwide – including U.S. veterans with disabilities. The vote was 61-to-38. Sixty six votes were needed to ratify the treaty. The 38 votes were cast by Republicans.
The failure to ratify the international treaty shows how fear and ignorance still dominate conservative thinking to the detriment of the country’s interest. The Americans with Disabilities Act is envied worldwide. The treaty was modeled after the ADA. The world was looking for our leadership, and we failed. Thirty eight Republicans showed arrogant ignorance. It’s the same ignorance that defeated Mitt Romney in his presidential bid.
Some of the provisions tackled in the treaty included remedies for preventing disabled people from receiving an education; getting jobs, even when they are well qualified; accessing information; obtaining proper health care; getting around and preventing them from “fitting in” and being accepted.
The treaty enjoyed bi-partisan support. For example former President George H.W. Bush and former Republican Senator Bob Dole, and Senators John McCain (R-AZ), Susan Collins (R-ME) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) supported the treaty. Senator John Kerry (D-MA) strongly supported the treaty.
Opponents of the treaty were erroneously suspicious that the United Nations would supervise the implementation of the treaty in the U.S. Former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) led a charge saying that the treaty would violate the rights of parents of disabled children to home school them. Opponents accepted this trash.
Reasonable thinkers did not accept trash. Outgoing Senator Richard Lugar (R-IN) said, “With these provisions, the United States can join the convention as an expression on disability rights without ceding any of our ability to decide for ourselves how best to address those issues in our law.”
We live in an era in which hysteria and lies are dominating political parties and policies. The country is the worse for this situation. Conservatives are forgetting who won the recent election. Voters need to remind conservatives that America excels when it is moving forward and not governed by fear.
I always believed that President Barack Obama would win re-election. Obama was a better candidate than Mitt Romney He was smarter than Romney. Obama/Biden was a better team than Romney/Ron Ryan. Obama/Biden were more attuned to the needs of the middle class and poor than Romney/Ryan. The Democrats had a better program to offer the American people than the Republicans. The voters rejected Romney’s lies. They rejected Paul Ryan’s austerity program to balance the federal budget on the backs of the middle class and poor. They rejected Romney’s patronizing toward the middle class and poor. Obama’s campaign staff developed a brilliant strategy. His campaign out thought and out maneuvered the Romney campaign. The Obama plan to get out the vote was the crown jewel of genius.
The president’s victory means America will move forward and tackle serious issues such as the rising deficits, restructuring the tax code, creating programs for achieving energy independence, rebuilding crumbling infrastructure, investing in education, funding research and development projects, passing the Dream Act, ending the US war in Afghanistan, passing legislation prohibiting voting suppression, raising the living standard of the middle class and poor and helping to create millions of jobs.
In foreign policy, the president will end the war in Afghanistan, ensure Israel that we are its friend and ally, expand foreign markets for U.S. products and improve diplomatic and economic relations with China. I am praying that Obama can be instrumental in brokering peace in the Middle between the Arabs and Israelis. Peace can be accomplished by keeping the most extreme right wing elements within Hamas, the Palestinian Liberation Organization and Israel out of the peace negotiations.
To my surprise, the president won re-election because he had built an efficient coalition of women, African-Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans and young people. People with disabilities should be included because they voted overwhelming for the president. The president was also aided by the backlash against voter suppression in many states. Instead of reducing voter turnout, voter suppression increased voter turnout. Voters stood in line for many, many hours so they could vote.
With immense determination, they exercised their first amendment freedom of speech right.
An important lesson from this recent presidential is money has its limits of persuasion. Hundreds of millions of dollars were spent to defeat Democrats. The Democrats won and remain the majority party in the U.S. Senate. In fact, they picked up two Senate seats. Voters were not buying the garbage Romney/Ryan, Karl Rove and others were pedaling.
President Obama is a visionary leader. The task before him is to persuade the country to follow him as he implements his agenda. He is up to the challenge.
Why I Will Vote for President Barack Obama
By John M. Williams
As with every election, I have a choice of voting or not voting. Since 19688, I have voted in every presidential election. I am a liberal Democrat and say so with immense pride.
I support President Obama for these reasons:
1. The president has the economic interests of all Americans in mind. Governor Romney has the economic interest of only the top 1-2% of the richest Americans in mind.
2. The president wants all Americans to pay their fair share of taxes. Romney wants the richest people in the U.S. to get more tax breaks without producing a single product.
3. The president wants to strengthen the safety net for the middle class and the poor. Romney wants to abolish safety nets.
4. The president wants to live in a cleaner environment. Romney does not.
5. President Obama wants the banking industry regulated to avoid another economic meltdown. Romney wants to abolish banking regulations.
6. President Obama is a strong supporter of civil rights laws and policy. For example, he supports same sex marriages. He supported the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy. He wants to repeal The Defense of Marriage Act. He strongly supports the Americans with Disabilities Act. Romney opposes all of these policies.
8. The president supported the Affordable Healthcare Act. Romney opposes it.
9. The president supports cuts in federal spending and raising taxes to balance the federal budget. Romney opposes raising revenues.
10. The president opposes Paul Ryan’s draconian budget cuts. Romney endorses it.
11. President Obama has shown he can be a strong president in military matters and foreign policy. Romney refuses to acknowledge the president’s successes.
12. The president’s policy killed Osama Bin Laden. Romney has not given him credit.
13. The president saved the auto industry. Romney would have let it die.
14. The president wants nearly all combat troops out of Afghanistan by the end of 2014. Romney opposes this policy.
15. The president ended US combat operations in Iraq. Romney has not given the president credit for this policy.
16. The president wants to rebuild the crumbling infrastructure in the country that would create more than a million jobs. Romney does not
Romney has shown himself to be a liar during this campaign. He has reversed himself on climate change, on saving the auto industry, abortion, welfare reform, healthcare and then denied his reversals. If he can’t tell the truth during a campaign, will he tell the truth as president?
Trusting politicians is important to me. I do not trust Mitt Romney.
Obama deserves to be re-elected president. He is a better man than Romney. This is why I am voting for Barack Obama.
And I Voted for This
By John M. Williams
I do not believe in the collective wisdom of the American voter. I believe that most Americans know little about their local, state and national history. And this lack of knowledge is the reason political paralysis dominates the U.S. Congress. Today’s Republican leaders in the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives are political buffoons. And people voted for this buffoonery.
In the Senate, the buffoons start with Tom Grassley (IA),Jim DeMint (SC),Mitch McConnell (KY), John Kyl (R-AZ), John Barrasso (ID), Rand Paul (KY), Saxby Chambliss (GA), and John Cornyn (TX). There are more buffoons.
In the House the buffoons start with the spineless weasel Speaker of the House John Boehner (OH), clueless Eric Cantor (VA), know nothing Jean Schmidt (OH) and Michele Bachman (MI), hallucinating Dennis Ross (FL), big mouth Joe Walsh, (Il) senile Virginia Fox (VA), liar Alan West (FL), paranoid Dan Burton (IN), make believer Jason Chaffetzl) (UT), racist Darrell Issa (CA),math dummy Paul Ryan (WI) and mini-mind liar Joe Wilson (SC)..
These individuals represent a small percentage of the buffoons running Congress. They did not go to Congress to govern. They went to Washington, DC to weaken and to destroy the federal government.
I could write a book that would never be finished, on the idiotic actions and words by the Republicans since Barack Obama was elected president. We can start with Mitch McConnell stating that his goal was to ensure that President Obama is a one term president. He has done his best to try to make it happen. McConnell is a main reason the federal deficit is in the trillions. His continuous refrain of, “Washington does not have a revenue problem, but a spending problem” is one of the great political on going lies in US history.
Jim DeMint wanted to make sure that Obama’s Waterloo was his failure to pass the Affordable Health Care Act. He failed.
Jon Kyl said that 90% of Planned Parents budget went to pay for abortions. He lied.
During the process to pass health care legislation Chuck Grassley said the bill established death panels for grandma. He lied. He repeated the lie many times and never once retracted it.
Rand Paul said that “because some judges sitting on the U.S. Supreme Court rule something is constitutional does not mean it is.” He obviously does not know American history and American law. And yet he is a Senator.
Dr. John Barrasso is the GOP”s mouth piece whenever it wants to spin lies about the Affordable Health Care Act. He never acknowledges the benefits the law provides, such as insurance companies being prohibited to deny insurance to people with pre-existing conditions and individuals up to age 26 staying on their parents health care plan.
You have John Cronyn calling for Attorney General Eric Holder’s resignation because he opposes voter suppression.
The idiotic statements can go on forever. And they contribute to a paralyzed government.
Let’s visit the House side.
It should be frightening to every American voter that spineless cowardly Speaker John Boehner is second in-line to become President of the United States in the event of the deaths of Barack Obama and Joe Biden. This is the same Boehner who permits the Tea-party members run the House. This is the same man who lied when he said, “We have the best medical system in the world.” This is the same person whose fantasies tell him the federal deficit can be solved by reducing federal spending. It’s Boehner who wants to repeal the Affordable Health Care Act even though the Supreme Court has ruled the Act is Constitutional. It was Boehner who said, So what,” when he was told reducing federal spending could result in the loss of tens of thousands of jobs.
Eric Cantor immediately after the Supreme Court proclaimed the Affordable Health Care Act constitutional scheduled the Act to be repealed in the U.S. House of Representatives on July 11. He knows the U.S. Senate won’t repeal it. By the way, the Republicans have voted to repeal the Act a number of times since becoming the majority. A follower of Bud Abbot’s mathematics, Canter believes that 7 x 13 is 28 and the way to reduce the deficit is to reach 28 and not 91. Daily he demonstrates he has sold his allegiance to the highest bidder.
Racist Darrell Issa is leading the Congressional contempt charge against Attorney General Eric Holder because he wants to embarrass Holder and the president. Issa wants information that he knows Holder can’t turn over. In Congressional hearings, Issa has called a liar without any proof. Issa is abusing his power. He knows it and doesn’t give a damn.
Alan West proclaimed there are 81 communists in the House Democratic caucus. A whopping lie. Yet, no Republican called him on it.
Joe Wilson called President Obama a liar during the president’s address to the nation on healthcare. President Bush took the country to war in Iraq on lies. Wilson never called former President a liar.
Paul Ryan’s budget is a calamity. It guts programs for the middle class and calls for a balanced budget by 2040. It is a fantasy budget, and people should ask of him “What are you sniffing?” Virginia Fox, Jean Schmidt and Michele Bachman’s statements on policies are so outlandish that they do not deserve to be mentioned. While running for the presidency, outside of Iowa, Bachman’s polling numbers were in the low single digits.
Joe Walsh does not know anything about the U.S. Constitution. He told Chris Matthews last year that Congress could pass a balanced budget amendment and in a week 38 states could ratify it. He has made other stupid statements.
The prime reason people are elected to office is to govern. The Republicans mentioned in this article are not governing. They are obstructionists who are collecting taxpayers’ money for not doing anything. They are weakening the country politically and economically.
There aren’t any laws punishing voters for being stupid. Witness former president George Bush. And people vote stupidly. Voting stupidly can be avoided There should be laws stating that ballots give definitions of governing and non-governing and before casting their vote voters have to check the governing or non-governing box. When checking the non-governing box, they can say, “And I voted for gridlock and the consequences.
Like President Barack Obama, my support for same sex marriages has been evolutionary. I support same sex marriages. My evolution started 33 years ago when I met Peter and Jimmy. They were committed lovers. Thirty three years later, their bind is as strong as ever. I worked with Peter for three months before he told me, “I am gay.” I was stunned.
Peter did not fit the image of gay men I had in my mind. He is the toughest advocate for people with disabilities that I know and I have ever worked with. He never made a play for other men that I saw. However, he was not afraid to tell people he was gay. This was testament to his courage.
The same night I learned that Peter was gay; he introduced my wife Lisa and me to Jimmy. Immediately I saw a strong bond of affection between the two men. Then and now, I never felt threatened by their relationship. I never felt their relationship was immoral, illegal, unnatural and sinful. I believe had they adopted children, they would have been .terrific parents.
When I was a child, for years my parents allowed a lesbian woman and her friend to babysit my brothers, sisters and me. My parents never questioned Nancy’s commitment to watch us dutifully. Nancy always brought her friend with her. To my knowledge, my parents never minded. Neither did we. Nancy was a lot of fun. She was a daughter of one of my mother’s best friends. In 1988 or 1989, when visiting my mother, Nancy came to my mother’s house with her partner of 38 years.
Nancy, her partner, my mother and I reminisced about their babysitting era. Nancy said she had watched us for about 10 years. During the reminiscing, I thought of Peter and Jimmy, and now Nancy and her life-long partner. They were happy being together. Nancy mentioned that she wished she could legally marry her lover. Her lover expressed the same sentiment.
In 45 years, I have known and worked with gays and lesbians. They are writers, doctors, clergy, soldiers, politicians, scientists, doctors, nurses, teachers, researchers, and so on. Every one is a patriot, and more than 90% are dedicated to their partners. Loving partners of the same sex does not make them sick, immoral, evil.
Religious and political conservatives are fuming because President Barack Obama supports same sex marriages. Cultural wars opposing same sex marriage are exploding across the country. A fired up clergy are delivering hell fire and damnation homilies opposing same sex marriages. They are saying same sex marriages are sinful immoral and against God’s law. They are erroneously shouting that a traditional marriage is between one man and one woman. They are condemning gays and lesbians to hell.
In all the shouting from clergy and cultural political conservatives oppose same sex marriage; they forget they are condemning God’s children to hell. They are saying that God made a mistake by making 10% of the population gay. If this is the case, then God should be damned. Before throwing stones at the gay and lesbian communities we need to know “Why did God make 10% of the population gay? “
Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate love to let business screw consumers. These businesses include men and women. Yet Republicans oppose people of the same sex screwing. Who is doing more harm and committing a greater sin?
Oops! I’m sorry. Republicans don’t sin. They moralize.
I support same sex marriages because they are right and they should be legal nationwide.
In recent years more than 20 states have passed Stand Your Ground laws. For the layman, like me, Stand Your Ground laws allow individuals who feel seriously threatened with great bodily harm or death to fight back with deadly force. The law and others like it expand the so-called Castle Doctrine. US Legal.com defines the Castle Doctrine as follows: "In criminal law, (it's) an exception to the retreat rule. The retreat rule allows a person the use of deadly force while protecting his/her place of abode, its premises and its inhabitants from attack such as from a trespasser who intends to commit a felony or inflict serious bodily injury or harm."
To date, the most celebrated Stand Your Ground case has been George Zimmerman’s killing teenager Trayvon Martin in Sanford Florida. Forty five days after the killing, Zimmerman has been charged with second degree murder. In killing Martin, Zimmerman argues he was protecting his life. He was also acting as a vigilante judge, jury and executioner. His decision to confront Martin for walking through a development where his father lived was a serious error in judgment. His decision to pull a loaded gun on Martin was another poor decision. The police’s decision not to arrest Zimmerman after he killed Martin was another bad decision.
I have many unanswered questions regarding Florida SYG law. Why was the Florida SYG law passed? What statewide threat was the impetus behind passing the law? Were killings with guns on the rise? If so, what policies existed that gave criminals easy access to killing weapons? Why should it be easy for criminals to get guns? Where there enough police on the streets to protect the citizens?
In states other than Florida, what serious threat existed statewide to persuade the legislatures to pass SYG laws? Were bad guys killing more people? Were more robberies being committed with handguns? Were there fewer police to protect the citizens? If there were fewer police why?
We know the National Rifle Association supported passing the SYG law. An NRA endorsement should raise immediate warning flags about the soundness of the law. The NRA wants every citizen armed and ready to use their guns at a moment’s notice.
Another strong supporter of SYG laws is the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), an ideologically conservative lobbying group consisting of business interests and conservative state legislators for the purpose of drafting research, policy papers and model legislation to assist and influence state legislatures and promote conservative initiatives. According to the organization's website, members share a common belief that "government closest to the people" is "fundamentally more effective, more just, and a better guarantor of freedom than the distant, bloated federal government in Washington, D.C. ALEC is perhaps most well-known for drafting model legislation that can be easily adopted by state legislators and introduced as legislation. ALEC also serves as a networking tool among state legislators, allowing them to research the handling and "best practices" of policy in other states.[
Since SYG became law in Florida the number of killings has tripled. Across the nation, citizens using the SYG law have killed robbers robbing a neighbor’s house, killed a neighbor over a dispute, etc. As long as these SYG laws remain on the books, more people will be killed, more people will become disabled, and the respect for law enforcers will dwindle as people believe they have the right to kill one another over disputes. What relevance will police in their communities if they are brought in after a killing? How can we call ourselves civilized when guns are one of the methods required to settle differences?
What’s to stop police from using the same SYG laws to justify killings?
I have had disputes with neighbors and friends. Some were vitriolic. While I have fired rifles and pistols, I have never felt the need to end the dispute with a gun. I do not own guns. I do not feel threatened because I do not own a gun. I have never felt the need to emulate Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp, John Wesley Hardin or Billy the Kid.
I don’t oppose people owning rifles or shotguns for hunting. I oppose the ease that people can buy guns at gun shows without a background check. I oppose SYG laws.
It’s time for the country .to establish rational adult policies on gun control. The SYG laws are disastrous policy and stupid.
May 20, 1966 remains a special day in my life. In one day, I was 21. This meant that I could drink in a bar in Pennsylvania, and I could vote.
Since I turned 21, where ever I have lived, I have voted in nearly every local election. I am extremely proud to say that I have voted in every statewide and every presidential election everyplace I have lived.
I cherish voting as dearly as I want to live, as much as I love my wife and three children. I would defend my right to vote with my life.
I am 66 years old. God willing I shall vote in November 2012 for Barack Obama. I pray that I may vote in many, many elections beyond this November. When I vote in Virginia, I have to show my driver’s license. I still drive so I can do that. In two, three or four years from now, I may not be driving. If I am not driving, and my driver’s license expires, and my passport expires, what other government issued documents do I have with a photo ID. I doubt if I will have any. Does this mean I will not be able to vote when I am in my seventies or older? In some states, the answer is yes?
Will people with disabilities be denied the right to vote because they do not have a driver’s license, passport or other photo ID?
Does a picture tell people who I really am? No. I have seen many fake IDs. In my college years, you could buy phony driver’s licenses that were used to get into bars or adult entertainment places. It was rare to see anyone with a false identification ejected
Today some states are rejecting college student identification but accept gun permits as proof of identification. Owning guns apparently trumps education. A gun proves who you are. A student ID doesn’t. Firepower trumps brain power.
I want to vote as long as I can. Voting is my free speech exercise. It is my way of telling my community and my country what I want from my government. To deny me this exercise of free speech is to deny me my citizenship. Such denial is un-American and criminal. It is a throwback to nearly a century of the Jim Crow voting atrocities.
Voting restrictions are racist, anti-elderly, anti-student, anti-disabled, anti-veteran and anti-American. Military veterans tell me they are appalled at any restrictions and wonder if any of the people pushing these restriction ever served in the military. Unfortunately, there is a segment of our population that is committed to restricting voting access for political purposes. The Republicans are pushing voting restrictions on minorities, students and seniors because they know they vote Democratic. These shenanigans must stop. They can be stopped by overwhelming voting the Republicans out of office. If Americans care about voting, they will overwhelmingly vote to repeal them.
